# Desmond can travel through time or can blip ahead in time, or, at least, can now after the big electromagnetic implosion. Reasons supporting and further thoughts thereof:

* He is naked when we first see him. In many films and books about time travel (The Terminator and The Time Traveler's Wife, to name two), the time traveler always arrives naked. This would explain why his clothes are gone.
* It's possible that he is naked because the fail-safe teleports organic matter away from the hatch. Charlie, Locke and Eko were wearing cotton clothes, Desmond's were synthetic.
* Desmond may not be able to travel time per se, but experienced a time shift a la Donnie Darko. He could be caught in (or was caught in) some time loop, and was/is now in the process of replaying it. The time travel might be entirely out of his control.
