The Sims Deluxe!
Its not really an official announcement, but Maxis will release The Sims Deluxe Edition - a new version of The Sims original game with Livin' Large included - this September. No, it's not the original game with all of the expansions rolled into one like you may be thinking, its just The Sims, Livin' Large, some new small features, and a brand new way to create sims. But there are still plenty of new objects, floors, wallpapers, and skins included that will be exclusive to Deluxe, as well as a brand new Science Fiction and Roman decoration themes. This version is going to be released mostly as an incentive for the people who have yet to participate in The Sims universe (there are probably about 10 of ‘em). Although, there is one small little gizmo that may attract even the less harcore fans of the series, a utility that enables players to create their own Sims. Sure, you’ve been able to do it in photo-editors for years, but now you can use Maxis' proprietary program to get even better results. Its a way to create Sims in your own image, the way you'd like them. You'll be able to add faces, clothing, and even zoom in on the smaller details. You can put new textures and colors on clothes that come with the software, or use ones you've scanned. Also, you can even add details like logos or small tatoos to your Sims by scaling them down and placing them quickly and easily in real-time with the software. Sims will appear as a 3D model in paint mode, so you can rotate it, zoom in on it, or even draw right on it. And forget about adding you new skins to some odd directory, the editor saves your new looks right into the game's database. Finally, fans can have complete control over their Sims! Its not really an expansion, but its not reallly the original version….pretty neat!! If you're a diehard Sims fan or are new to the series, you'll want to pick this one up along with Unleashed. It ought to add a lot to this already near-perfect game, and goes to show that Maxis isn't done yet. Look for more details soon right here at TSW. There isn't even so much as a press release right now, just these small details. We'll definitely keep you updated as more info becomes available!
