Þessi sveit er frá Uppsala í Svíþjóð, skipuð einvala liði hljóðfæraleika, sveit reist á rústum sveitarinnar Mayadome. Aðalmaðurinn í Loch Vostok er gítarleikari/söngvari sveitarinnar Teddy Möller, sem merkilegt nok sá um að tromma í Mayadome. Þetta er mjög skemmtileg sveit live, hef séð hana nokkrum sinnum. Sveitin er ekki týpisk progmetal, heldur blandar inn í þetta áhrifum frá thrash og jafnvel grind. Fyrir er tónlistin grípandi og melódísk. Teddy, er mjög fjölbreyttur söngvari, alls enginn pavarotti, heldur bara solid metal söngvari, tekur bæði growlin og hið einstaka high-pitched scream þegar við á.

Þeir hafa gefið út eina plötu sem heitir Dark Logic, plata sem var tilbúin til útgáfu fyrir örugglega 2 árum, og kom út í Rússlandi á þeim tíma cirka bát, en er bara nýkomin út í Evrópu á Magnetism Records.

Loch Vostok arose from the ashes of the progressive metal band Mayadome from Uppsala, Sweden, that broke up in 2001. Lead by controlfreak Teddy Möller (who played drums in Mayadome but shifted to guitars and vocals in Loch Vostok) they now have released their first album. And what a great start recording it at Dugout and Prime studios with Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, Strapping Young Lad and others). Later the album was remastered by Peter In de Betou (Arch Enemy amongst others). The outcome is totally awesome. If you feel that there is something missing between Evergrey, Dimmu Borgir, Soilwork and the less well-known Germans Lanfear you really should listen to Loch Vostok. Their music is first and foremost progressive metal, a little bit rougher than Evergrey mixed with Lanfears progressive power metal. And in special moments everything explodes and you get run over by a blasphemous symphonic black metal grinding-machine. And in between they run complex paces and blending together very diverse harmonies to a lovely stew of? well, progressive music.
