The best way to describe James Gunn’s directorial debut would be to take ‘Dawn of the Dead,’ ‘The Fly’ remake and ‘The Blob’ and smash it into one fun horror pic. Mostly ‘Slither’ is a trip back to the ’80s, when horror films were comical, fun and timeless. The horror pics of the ‘80s are the films that come up during nights of heavy drinking where someone always screams “how have you not seen that!??” Mark my words- ten years from now horror fans will be saying the exact same thing about ‘Slither’.

Slither isn’t trying to be an instant classic; it isn’t a serious or scary horror film. It’s just trying to be a really fun popcorn movie, the kind of film that you take a date to and hold on tight as you laugh, jump, scream… and hopefully get laid after. If you love films like John Carpenter’s The Thing, Dawn of the Dead, Night of the Creeps, From Beyond, The Blob, or The Hidden, then you will dig Slither. It's an old school monster movie that takes off from the very beginning and doesn’t let up until the end.

SLITHER is flat out the best horror films I have seen since Shaun of the Dead. There, take that.

It's about damn time. Finally, we got a horror film that's alternately hilarious, creepy, gross, not a remake of a previous horror film designed to lure teens, and above all fun. Oh, and with a much needed R-rating. I speak of Slither.
WIthout a doubt, Slither is the most entertaining movie I've seen this year.

Svo enn sem komið er, eru allar gagnrýnisraddir mjög jákvæðar, og ekki draga þær úr spenninginum til að sjá þessa mynd.
