Það virðist svo sem “The Aviator” eigi eftir að ríkja sem mynd ársins 2004 með 12 tilnefningar. “Finding Neverland” fylgir fast á eftir með 7 og svo kemur “Ray” með 6. Sjálfum fannst mér hafa verið litið framhjá nokkrum ágætum myndum, hef ekki séð allar myndirnar sem tilnefndar voru til bestu myndar og get þessvegna ekki sagt með sanni hvort mér finnist þessar myndir eiga heima þarna.

Við getum flest verið sammála um það að árið 2004 var frekar slappt kvikmyndaár. Fáar stórmyndir komu út og ollu þær vonbrygðum hjá mörgum. Margar myndir komu á óvart (National Treasure, Finding Neverland) en allt í allt var þetta frekar slappt ár. Gæti verið vegna Lord of the Rings-leysis.
