Fimmtudagurinn í síðustu viku var öflugur dagur í lífi Jazz. Þeir sömdu við óskabarnið Scott Padgett og hinn spænsk ættaða Raul Lopez. Þar fyrir utan komst það á kreik að Mark Jackson væri jafnvel á leiðinni til Salt Lake City!!

Jazz fans shouldn't have to cringe as much when John Stockton goes to the bench next season. Two Salt Lake City radio stations are now reporting that the Utah Jazz will sign veteran point guard Mark Jackson to a one-year contract prior to training camp.
1320 KFAN broke the news last night, and now 1280 KZN says it has learned that Jackson will sign.
Jackson was waived today by the Denver Nuggets, and once he clears waivers, will sign with the Jazz.
The deal with the Jazz will likely be for the veteran minimum, around one million dollars for a player of Jackson's experience.
The 6-3 Jackson, a 15-year veteran, played all 82 games last season and averaged 8.4 points and 7.4 assists while shooting 44% from the field and 40% from three-point land. He would probably play primary backup, relegating Carlos Arroyo to third point.
UPDATE: The 48-hour waiver time in the NBA is based on business days. Jackson will be on waivers until the afternoon of Tuesday, October 1st. During that time, any team may claim him, but will be required to pick up the remainder of his contract. Assuming that doesn't happen, a very likely scenario, all signs point to him signing with the Jazz.
