AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are locked in a battle to secure the signature of Iceland’s 16-year-old goalkeeping sensation Snorri Birgisson, who turned down a move to Charlton Athletic last month.
Birgisson is first choice for Iceland’s Under-16 team and has been winning rave reviews for his performances between the sticks for local team Keflavik.
Both AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain have sent formal inquiries for Birgisson’s services to Keflavik – but they face competition from other clubs.
Last month, English Premiership side Charlton Athletic were reported to have offered Birgisson a full-time contract, but he turned it down on the advice of solicitors, who were pushing for him to join a side competing in the Champions’ League.
