Oldham boss Andy Ritchie refuses to accept that Wigan have finally buried the Latics jinx.
Ritchie's outfit have been something of a bogey team for Wigan over the past two seasons.
Last term, it was the “other” Latics who ended Wigan's impressive unbeaten start to the season and, this term, Oldham are one of just three teams to have beaten Bruce Rioch's side in the league.
But a win at Boundary Park in the LDV Vans Trophy and a 3-1 league victory at the JJB Stadium on Saturday would appear to have laid that ghost to rest - even if Ritchie refuses to accept that there is a lot to choose between the two sides.
Ritchie said: “I'm disappointed whoever beats us. Everyone says we had the Indian sign over them but they were going to beat us some time.
”If we'd been torn apart I could have accepted it a bit more but it was our stupidity that let them in.
“If you look at the games we've played you wouldn't say Wigan are any better than us.
”We have beaten them three times in the last two seasons. We were narrowly beaten by them in the LDV trophy the other night, again because of our stupidity, and now we've gifted them two goals."
