That's the problem with you kids, you can't accept something DIFFERENT. Get over it, CS:S isn't the same game as CS 1.6. Don't try to start with me being a noob for saying this either, I've played CS competitively for 3 years.
You know why you all hate it? I'll tell you blatantly, it's quite simple to tell why. BECAUSE CS:S IS EASIER FOR PEOPLE NEW TO THE GAME(og madur fer ekki ad kaupa ser eitthvad 7 ara gamalt drasl). You guys can't stand being owned a few times by some people that are new to the game. You can't stand playing CS for so many years and have new kids coming into CS:S and killing you. As much as you may try to deny the truth, it remains the same. CS:S caters to new CS players.
About the fact that there are only 1 skin for each team. That's how most pros play, there's an option in CS 1.6 to enable only 1 skin per team just like CSS. Most pro's use this option because you can tell all the skins from either team more easily.
The skins run very realisitic, you guys just fail to see it. Have you guys seen the animations in 1.6? They're so jerky, CS:S animations are silky smooth. Who cares about skins anyways? It's about killing the opposite team, get over the fact that you aren't sexually attracted to these skins like you are to the CS 1.6 ones. I have failed to see a cooler looking Counter-Terrorist than the new ones in CS:S.
So lets see here…
Graphics=CS:S
Gameplay=Personal Preference
Realistic Environment (chaotic like REAL WAR)=CS:S
Sound=CS:S
No matter how you want to look at it CS:S is superior all you kids that try to seem “HARDCORE” are just stubborn.
As said I've played CS competitively for 3 years, and If you've played for 5 I could really give less of a damn. The fact is that you never gave CS:S a chance. You thought the game would be identical to CS 1.6 but it's not so you absolutely “hate” it because it's different and you're not comfortable getting killed by kids that have only played for 2 months.
Diehard fans aren't diehard by liking CS 1.6 over CS:S. They're just stubborn kids with no lives. I used to play CS like a religion but I have no time anymore. I also find CS:S to be genuinely more fun and chaotic.
