1. I'm in the Magic Cave in Agrabah, and I'm seeing statues of monkeys holding gems. When I examine the majority of them, I get told that they're out of reach. What next?

To activate those statues, you need to have Aladdin in your party. Then, when you go to examine the statues, Abu (Aladdin's pet monkey) will scamper over and touch the statue to activate it.

2. I'm at Boogie's Manor in Halloween Town. I just defeated Lock, Shock and Barrel and activated some machinery. Where do I go next?

Once you've activated the machinery at Boogie's Manor, go back to the entrance. To get there quickly, just drop all the way down to the bottom and ride the walking bathtub back up. Once at the gate, look to the left and you'll see a tree branch. Jump out and follow the path to a Green Door. If you saw this door before now, it would have been locked. Since you flipped the switch upstairs, the door will now be open.

3. What is Sora's most powerful Keyblade, and how do I get it?

The most powerful weapon Sora can obtain in Kingdom Hearts is Ultima Weapon. It can be made at the Moogles' Synth Shop in Traverse Town, and shows up on the list only when all the other items on the Synth Shop list have been made at least once. Once it becomes available, these are the items you'll need and which creature drops them:

5 Lucid Gems — Wight Knight (Halloween Town)
5 Power Gems — Pirate and Pirate Ship (Never Land)
5 Thunder Gems — Aquatank and Screwdriver (Atlantica)
3 Mystery Goos — White Mushroom, Black Fungus and Rare Truffle (various locations)
3 Gales — Angel Star and Invisible (End of the World)

4. I'm able to find everything I need to synthesize items at the synth shop in Traverse Town but Mystery Goo. Where can I find it?

There's only one type of creature that has Mystery Goo, and that's the Mushroom Heartless that show up at random in certain areas of most worlds. Here are the different classes of Mushroom Heartless and where they can be most commonly found:

White Mushrooms

These friendly creatures show up most commonly around the tent in the Deep Jungle, the Treasure Room at the Magic Cave in Agrabah, and the large room just before reaching the Final Rest at the End of the World. They aren't hostile, but you have to hit them three times in a row with the same type of magic to get them to drop the Mystery Goo. The gestures they make will tell you what type of spell they want you to use on them:

Shivering — Fire
“Bring it” gesture — Ice
Sun over head — Thunder
Trip and fall — Cure
Spinning around — Aero
Frozen in place — Stop
Floating in air — Gravity
Black Fungus

Unlike its White Counterpart, the Black Fungus will attack you. It doesn't have much HP, but they are extremely tough and will become invincible every other turn. These Mushroom Heartless don't drop Mystery Goo all that often when defeated, but if you're feeling lucky they can be most commonly found in the Pumpkin Patch at Halloween Town.

Rare Truffles

These are actually a little easier to find than the Black Mushrooms. These Mushroom Heartless are friendly, but it's really tricky getting them to drop Mystery Goo. When you hit them, they'll become airborne. The object is to keep them in the air with your physical attacks and combos. If they hit the ground before dropping the Goo, they'll vanish. Casting Aero helps out when attempting this. Rare Truffles are most commonly found on the deck of the Pirate Ship in Never Land, and in the large room just before reaching the Final Rest at the End of the World.

Bear in mind that the friendly mushrooms only stay in an area for a limited amount of time, so use your time, spells and MP wisely.

5. I heard that there were a lot of optional bosses in this game. How do I go about finding them?

There are four optional bosses in Kingdom Hearts, three of which are exclusive to the U.S. version of the game. Here's where to find them:

Phantom

To get to this boss, go back to the Cabin in Never Land after leaving Hollow Bastion the first time. Put Peter Pan in your party and talk to Tinkerbell, who's hanging out in the room. She'll want you to go to the Clock Tower in Never Land. Agree to go, and when you arrive the Phantom will appear and challenge you.

Kurt Zisa

This boss was named after a fan that won the “KINGDOM HEARTS: Name-In-Game” Sweepstakes. To get to him, go to Aladdin's House in Agrabah after leaving Hollow Bastion the first time. You'll should see the magic carpet dancing frantically. Talk to it and agree to go out to the open desert with it. Kurt Zisa will ambush you there.

Ice Titan

This boss from Hercules becomes available at the Coliseum at the same time as the Hades Cup. Sora will have to win this battle alone.

Sephiroth

The man, the myth, the nihilistic madman. Arguably the coolest villain from the Final Fantasy series, Sephiroth is back in black! He becomes available after you beat the Hades Cup at the Coliseum. Again, Sora goes solo in this battle.
