“Alex Anderson never compromises his music, his sight or his vision. His musical diversity and talent make him a new breed of DJ about to shake things up.” Danny Newman, Promoter, Turnmills, London"
Committed music lover Alex Anderson is taking his passion for great tunes and a great party back on the road in 2004. Resident at Friday night club The Gallery, at respected London venue Turnmills since 1996, Alex began his DJing career back in 1993. From his early residency at the seminal Club4Life @ The Gardening Club in 1995, Alex has rocked parties around the world, taking in America, Canada, Australia, Ibiza and Eastern Europe.
In the UK he’s headlined some of the country’s finest clubs: Golden in Manchester, Lakota in Bristol, Zap in Brighton, Deluxe in Nottingham, Rhumba in Perth, and Inside Out and Colours in Glasgow.
His diverse talents were also recognised by Radio One jocks Danny Rampling and Pete Tong. Rampling requested a mix for his influential Love Groove Dance Party, and Tong a live Essential Mix for his globally recognised show.
Alex’s ear for a floor smashing tune was also put to great use when he A&Red for FFRR (London Records), Central Station Records (Australia) and Neo Records.
Over the last two years Alex has become an indispensable lynchpin of the Turnmills team, taking on promotional and programming roles at not just The Gallery, but also City Loud, MetroGroove, Release Yourself and The Boutique. In December 2003 hundreds of clubbers refused to leave the dancefloor at 7.30am when his eclectic Boutique set raised the roof.
Now Alex is ready to go back on the road. Today his style ranges from deep progressive, funky, sexy house through to the tougher, darker scapes of the tribal underground and dirty, ass-shaking electro. With the ability to play such a wide range of music, Alex has recently landed himself gigs playing alongside Deep Dish, Pete Tong etc
“Without doubt Alex is one of the best up and coming DJs on the European scene right now. He played for Technics at the launch of the new 1210Mark5s with Deep Dish and is already confirmed to play at the launch events for the new CD deck throughout Europe and America in 2004.” Dave Preece, Technics, Product Manager
Alex’s talent, drive and passion matches many of the scene’s main players, yet he is interested in only two things - giving clubbers an attitude-free party with great music and keeping it real.
