Thanks to TriggerCSF we have a link to a article on ComputerGamingWorld with the title - “Battlefield 2 Revealed”
The article writes that in Issue 240 of the Computer Gaming World magazine will contain a “World Exclusive” of “Battlefield 2”
The article also writes that the game won't be a direct follow up to 1942 or BFV. Rather, it jumps forward into Modern Combat. What we can speculate is that this would be the PC version of BF:Modern Combat - developed by Trauma Studios.
