- How do I vote to kick a player out of a game?

Sometimes somebody is a real jerk. Even with friendly fire off, he goes around killing his own teammates by dropping grenades on them and blowing them over cliffs, etc. (yeah, I mean you, “3thehardway”.) To kick these sorry excuses from the server, start a vote. First type “~” (above the Tab key) to bring up the console, then type:

game.listplayers

You'll see a list of players' names and numbers. You can use the “Page Up” and “Page Down” keys to scroll the console window to see the players which have disappeared off the top of the screen. Note the number of the spudhead. Say it's “42” for “3thehardway”. Now type:

game.votekickteamplayer 42

where “42” is the number of the player. This initiates a vote on whether this player should be voted off, with your team voting on it. Turn off the console with another “~”. You should also send a message to your team to urge them to type “~Game.votekickteamplayer #” to vote the bozo off, e.g. type:

TEAM: type “~game.votekickteamplayer 42” to kick out 3thehardway!!!!!!

You'll have to type the tilde “~” twice to have it actually display in your message.

To initiate a game-wide vote, use:

game.votekickplayer #

which lets everyone vote on him (but expect that the enemy team probably won't care as much). Also, with the console up you can see the various game commands listed by typing “game.” and hit tab twice (or hit tab twice with nothing on the line and you'll see all classes of commands).
